Asbury Park, NJ ― CAPS Asbury Park scholars made their semi‑annual service trip to Kula Farm – a greenhouse located right in the heard of Asbury Park that supplies freshly grown micro greens year-round to local restaurants. This year, several of our sophomore and junior Environmental Science scholars traveled to The Asbury Park Public Library to plant a variety of hostas, tomatoes, sunflowers, and Birds Eye plants.
The partnership between Interfaith Neighbors, a non-profit organization, and the students at CAPS has been going on for several years now, with the focus being on service to the community – with the ultimate goal being both to foster a love of gardening – as well as helping scholars understand the importance of helping their neighbors.
